Above is the link to an article I just read, in regards to the Apple iPad.

I find it amazing to see how staunch people are for, or against, an inanimate object. It is like this device will end the world as we know it! You know that maybe true. It very well could mark, the end of an era. An era, where users were defined as Leet or Noob. Only the truly enlightened could operate, with any proficiency, on a computer. Perhaps we will now see the entry of a new age of technology where the machine serves man and not the other way around.

What do I mean by this? Simple. If you have to spend hours learning an operating system, an interface, and a methodology, who is the master? A carpenter doesn't have to master a hammer. He masters what he does, with the hammer! Too often, I hear friends of mine complaining about how they are tired of relearning their machine every time a new OS comes out. Or how they hate that computers consume so much of their time.

Imagine, if you will, a world where machines are in every aspect of your life, and yet never noticed. They are as unnoticed as a pen&paper are now! I never take note when someone takes notes on a pad of paper. Yet I always take note when someone is taking notes on a laptop(damn keyboard clicks!). A good friend of mine,(lets call him, John-oh wait that is his name :) ) was all in a uproar, about the iPad. He was furious that it didn't have flash, or removable battery, or the ability to access the computers internal programming. He despised the premise of the iPad, in general.

I don't mind, it is his opinion.

I then stated the counter-argument of, It is just simple- not lesser. He just blinked. He couldn't fathom, in his 6g of ram havin', 1 terabyte of memory using world that simple could be just as desirable as fast. Too often, people focus more on the toy, and less on its usage. My kid does it all the time. More. Faster. Bigger. Louder. Brighter. Funny enough, if you discover the true purpose of the toy, the fun you might have! My friend, is not wrong in his view. But he, as many people do, forgot that there is more than one way to go about things. More than one point of view to be had!
